in detail

Inspired by a painting by Berthe Morisot, the program plays with the elusive. From Mel Bonis’s *Papillon* to Louise Héritte-Viardot’s quartet *“Im Sommer”*, we must listen as the five musicians invite us to enter into the sensation, to pursue without possessing, to create without capturing. Nature is a living environment, summer a

physical experience, the works open, vibrant forms, traversed by time. The butterfly escapes, but it leaves a trace: a touch of color, a musical gesture…

Thanks to the passionate historical work carried out by the Cité des Compositrices, its founder, cellist Héloïse Luzzati—who will guide our listening—and the musicians committed to this mission, which is as much about archaeology as it is about bringing works into the world, the works of these female composers transcend the shadow or oblivion to which they were so readily consigned, taking center stage

they deserve.

The concert is preceded by a tour, led by the Friends of the Marais de la Dives, of the Bois Roger estate, home to storks acclimatized by the former owner Jacques Perrin, filmmaker and producer of *The Migratory People* and *The People of the Grass*.

All you need to do is bring your own picnic to enjoy butterfly watching followed by a picnic on the grass—or a meal outdoors.

Concert scheduled as part of the 2026 Normandy Impressionist Festival.

She has participated in several previously unreleased recordings of rediscovered female composers. An associate artist of Ensemble I Giardini, she founded the Fidelio Quartet in 2023 with violinists Camille Fonteneau and Verena Chen, and cellist Maria Andréa Mendoza. Their collaboration celebrates works from the established repertoire as well as those of composers yet to be discovered. Eager to enrich their playing, the ensemble also regularly forms quintets with piano or voice. Manon Galy Named “Instrumental Soloist Revelation” at the 2022 Victoires de la Musique awards, Manon Galy trained at the Conservatoires Régionales (CRR) of Toulouse and Paris before attending the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) and then the Hochschule für Musik und Ionian University of Music in Munich under Julia Fischer, the Philippe Jaroussky Academy, and the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo, where she is currently in residence with the Zeliha Trio. A chamber musician at heart, Manon Galy founded the Zeliha Trio in 2018 with Jorge Gonzalez-Buajasan and Maxime Quennesson. Their first album, released in 2020 on the Mirare label, was critically acclaimed (5 Diapason, 5 stars from Classica, Editor’s Choice from Gramophone magazine, etc.), as was their latest album, released in May 2024, which also received 5 stars from Classica, 4 stars from Télérama, and was named “Laure Mézan’s Choice” by Pianiste magazine. “Nuits Parisiennes,” an album released in February 2023 on the Aparté label and born from the duo formed with pianist Jorge Gonzalez-Buajasan, won a Diapason d’Or of the year, 5 stars from Classica, and 4 stars from Télérama. Manon has joined the production company “Beau Soir Productions,” directed by Renaud Capuçon, both as a soloist and with the Zeliha trio.

Marielou Jacquard Playing the acrobatic feat between Baroque music and contemporary creation, Marielou Jacquard cultivates her taste for eclecticism in the diversity of her repertoire. She began her vocal training at a very young age at the Maîtrise de Radio France, then at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler (Berlin) where she studied with Martin Bruns and Christine Schäfer. She also studied with soprano Julia Varady, Wolfram Rieger for Lieder, and Peter Berne for Bel Canto. In 2014, noticed for her musicality and vocal agility by conductor Wolfgang Katschner, she performed the role of Costanza in Handel's Riccardo Primo at the Handel Festival Halle and the Ludwigsburg Festival, in a production by the Lautten Company. This marked the beginning of an affinity for Baroque music that would solidify over the years. She sang the role of Nero in Monteverdi's L'Incoronazione di Poppea with René Jacobs during a residency at Royaumont. Most recently, she performed the role of Juno in Charpentier's Actéon in a production by Geoffroy Jourdain's Les Cris de Paris, directed by Benjamin Lazare. She regularly collaborates with Vincent Dumestre's Le Poème Harmonique, Sébastien Daucé's Ensemble Correspondances, and Raphaël Pichon's Pygmalion Orchestra, performing 17th-century Italian music as well as French Romantic repertoire. Marielou is also deeply involved in contemporary music. She sang the title role in the premiere of Lady Macbeth by free jazz guitarist and composer Marc Ducret at the Lille Opera. She is the dedicatee of several works, including Héloïse Werner's *Le Coeur Crucifié*, Lise Borel's *Les Chansons pour Pauline*, and Kaoli Ono's *Ceux qui nous attendaient*. In recent years, she has performed at the Aix-en-Provence Festival Academy, the Royal Chapel of Versailles, the Ambronay Festival, and the Musica Sacra Festival (Quito, Ecuador). In Berlin, she has performed at the Tacheles, Radial System, and Konzerthaus. Her voice, described as "deeply grounded, with a broad resonance and a storyteller's prosody, supple and articulate" (Charles Arden, *Olyrix*), naturally leads her to the art of the recital. She participated in the inaugural class of the Orsay-Royaumont Academy of Lied and Mélodie and gave numerous concerts, notably with pianists Kunal Lahiry, Celia Oneto Bensaid, Lauriane Corneille, and Kaoli Ono. She is also committed to promoting the work of women composers, collaborating on several occasions with the Cité des Compositrices (an initiative of La Boîte à Pépites and the Un Temps pour Elles festival) as well as with the Femmes artistes, Femmes d’action festival. Passionate about acting, she performed the roles of Sascha, Ivanov's lover, in Chekhov's eponymous play, and later Hitler in Heiner Müller's Germania at the Berlin Academy of Arts.
