The ACADEMIE DU PAYS d'AUGE

For 30 years, the Promenades musicales du Pays d'Auge have been offering classical music concerts in the most beautiful heritage sites in the heart of Normandy.
Sébastien Daucé, founder of the Correspondances ensemble, took over the artistic direction of the festival in 2023 and continues the adventure of a youth academy focused on baroque musical art.
Pays d'Auge Academy 2025 | from July 27 to August 2, 2025
Twelve places are open for the 2025 edition: 6 for singers and 6 for instrumentalists dedicated to their accompaniment, violists and theorbists.
For the occasion, he invites countertenor Damien Guillon, a talented musician who performs as a soloist in numerous French and foreign ensembles and orchestras, to join him for a week of masterclasses accompanied by harpsichordist Valentin Rouget. The violists will benefit from the guidance of Mathilde Vialle and the theorbists from Thibaut Roussel. This session will be rounded out with several sessions on polyphony, under the direction of Sébastien Daucé.
In the heart of the Pays d'Auge, hosted in an exceptional heritage site – the Château de Cesny-aux-Vignes – the students selected for this week of study and discovery will be able to deepen their understanding and mastery of the Baroque repertoire (vocal technique, polyphonies, interpretation, ensemble music and solos).
This team of young Academy graduates will have the opportunity to perform at the end of the festival on August 2, 2025, during a public concert in the auditorium of the Abbey of Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives.
