Bexley Music, located approximately 20 km from central London, is the official music education service for the London Borough of Bexley and provides weekly music lessons to thousands of children and young people in the borough. Bexley Music runs 14 ensembles that meet weekly throughout the school year. The Bexley Music Tour Band comprises 40 members from the Bexley Youth Orchestra and the Bexley Youth Band, who join forces as a single ensemble for the tour. The ensembles bring together young people aged 12 to 18, most of whom attend school in the London Borough of Bexley. Many aspire to a musical career after secondary school, and several have already secured a place at university or a conservatory, which they will begin in September 2024.
