À propos de l'évènement

Cathedral for cathedral, Saint-Pierre de Lisieux is exactly contemporary with Notre-Dame de Paris, and their Gothic styles share the same inspiration in their beginnings. Singing, in Saint-Pierre, the Masters of Notre-Dame du Grand Siècle therefore does not constitute identity theft.

These masters practiced in the 17th century in Paris, where the heart of sacred music has been beating since the invention of polyphony under new ribbed windows, before joining the chapel of Louis XIV in Versailles. Their names are not the best known – Veillot, Cosset, Lalouette or Robert – but their art, all of grandeur and refinement, deserves more light. The situation of André Campra at the end of the century is a little different: a musician from Aix who passed through Notre-Dame, he shines in the theater and with the brilliance of his Requiem .

What do you mean, a Requiem for the first weekend of the festival? Yes, because there is nothing to fear: its music, solar, is more like stained glass at midday than the lead of darkness. The style of the Correspondances ensemble – the alliance of spirit and matter, the fervor radiated by the dance – has a lot to do with it.
