À propos de l'évènement
It is a matter of musical influence between Paris and London in the 17th century, for the glory of God and the greatness of kings at the time of the English civil wars and Cromwell's republic. In exile, Charles II discovered the Royal Chapel of his young cousin Louis XIV: large choir, soloists and concert instruments at the service of the liturgy and His Majesty. Back on the throne of England, he restored English music using French know-how and tools. The great polyphonic motet in Latin, developed by Henri Dumont and Pierre Robert, becomes symphony anthem in English style. Under the influence of Pelham Humphrey and his peers John Blow and Henry Purcell.
