À propos de l'évènement
At the end of this concert, shimmering like the light of the stained glass windows on the floor of the choir, of the beautiful Abbey of Saint-Pierre, you will not believe it: Maurice Ravel only composed three Songs for a cappella choir! They are obviously at the center of a program entirely devoted to the subtle composer and goldsmith orchestrator. The rest are transcriptions of works composed for solo voice, piano, orchestra; some appreciated by connoisseurs, others – La Pavane pour une infanta deceased , the Boléro – known to everyone and even beyond.
It takes a certain amount of nerve to dare to tackle with your bare voice what is most orchestral in French music! Some nerve, a sense of community and a lot of talent. The twenty-four voices of the Les Métaboles choir, conducted by Léo Warynski with a kind eye and an impeccable ear, are full of them. There is something alchemical in this metamorphosis of gold into light.
