À propos de l'évènement
Works by Piaf, Gerschwin, Satie...
Popular American music, spirituals, songs of hope or cabaret, soprano Marie-Laure Garnier (lyrical revelation at the 2021 Victoires de la Musique Classique) has practiced them with relish since her childhood in Guyana. With her accomplice, the pianist Célia Oneto Bensaid, they form an intense and mischievous duo and will celebrate a somewhat special July 14, for the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings, at the Merville Battery Museum, a symbolic and terrible place of the hope regained. With a sense of celebration, they mix the figures of French song and American culture, references to classical, gray and sentimental waltzes, the rhythms of jazz which was being invented. From Piaf's popular Paname to Gershwin's Broadway, Marie-Laure and Célia have two loves: music and life!
