À propos de l'évènement
Where to start ? Perhaps by the monuments where the two harpsichordists, Pierre Gallon the Norman and Matthieu Boutineau the Poitevin, stand out. First, the church of Saint-Martin de La Croupte, dating from the 15th century, its choir remodeled in the 18th century, all picturesque and modest in length at the bottom of its wooded valley, which received them for five days for recording, on the Harmonia Mundi label, from the Concerts Royals of François Couperin. Suites of French dances that we listen to more than we dance them, composed in 1714 and 1715 to soften the twilight of the reign of Louis at the time, “have their effect with two harpsichords” .
Then the discreet architectural gem that is the castle of Cricqueville-en-Auge, late 16th century, retouched late 18th century; the residence exceptionally leaves its private setting during a guided tour which takes us to the living room where François Couperin and his two servants await us for a musical overview of castle life.
