in detail
Over the years, it has become a hallmark of our festival: we march through the Deauville-Clairefontaine racecourse to the sound of fanfare. This year, we’ve decided to kick off our festival with this joyful, family-friendly, popular and festive occasion, where the horses of the Pays d’Auge meet the Normandy trumpets …
With their vibrant melodies and imposing figures, standing in the paddock and the stands, on the green grass and amongst the crowd, the Nørthmen Brass – with snare drums and iron-shod hooves – set the rhythm for the day’s races and the prize-giving ceremonies. These brass-armed Vikings are an open-air powerhouse, a miracle cure for chasing away the rain, an irresistible festival fuel: in short, they’re right at home with us!
