description

in detail

Before hearing them in concert and then at a Renaissance dance party, it's time for Recreation with the children: the quartet takes them by ear into the territory of baroque strings. We will hear the mellow, resonant sounds of so-called "old" instruments—the natural strings, the bows, and the way they are used, giving them that inimitable fruit jelly flavor. We will learn that the violin, of popular origin, gradually replaced the viol as a noble and virtuoso instrument. And that the violin band is not a collection of shady individuals, but a group of musicians brought together to play together in the first orchestras.

Have you ever ridden in a piano taxi? Have you ever encountered, in a single day, a moody diva, two snails on their way to a funeral, a fat lady with a kite, a beautiful blue-eyed whale, a flock of raccoons, or your cousin Gaston? Embark with Fiona and Joséphine on the exciting journey of a taxi driver and let yourself be carried away into the intense and poetic world of Joseph Kosma's music, set to the poems of Jacques Prévert. Blending popular melody with harmonic refinement, Kosma composed some fifty songs based on the texts of the protest poet. These little masterpieces are performed with brilliance and passion by mezzo-soprano Fiona McGown and pianist Joséphine Ambroselli, both chamber musicians at heart and passionate about melody. Fiona's luminous voice, with its warm timbre, blends its supple and light notes with Joséphine's confident and colorful performance. Both use their multiple talents, as actresses and musicians, to highlight, with the humor and rebellious instinct that characterize them, this rich and eclectic repertoire. They obey no codes to leave room for only one thing: music!
